About

I run a group for music-centred, weekend meet-ups for women 35+ and Mums to: experience music events, enjoy good weather and some relaxation together.

Valencia

There’s always something to explore: a myriad of cultural events dotted around neighbourhoods and across this region, plus the local beaches – Valencia is perfect for a weekend (or longer if your calendar allows).

Where to stay?

City Centre

If sight-seeing, cultural events and tapas are your thing, this may be the place for you. It has good transport connections with the main railway and coach station nearby. There are free street events and displays year-round. It’s also a short walk to the Casco Historico (historic centre), central market and Turia Garden, which winds its way over 8 kilometres through the city and its a great setting to have a picnic, take a wander, cycle, or people watch. Things quieten down towards the middle of Summer when locals take their holidays or head away to coastal areas.

Coastal

This area is a mix of local beach neighbourhoods (Las Arenas, Malvarosa, Cabanyal and Patacona) with touristy, budget and upmarket eateries along the connecting paseo. The Marina offers places to dine and a range of sport and boating activities. There are lots of bars, and you’ll hear music on the terraces, which are bustling in the Summer season. It’s a short cycle, metro, bus or taxi ride into the city.

City of Science and Arts

A fab setting, this famous landmark has a range of attractions and museums, some of which also host music events, and has nightclubs and bars. Many cultural events are staged here, including fireworks displays. There are 2 large shopping centres, on either side of the complex with a range of restaurants and general shopping, and department stores. It’s a short drive, cycle or ride to the beach.
